Bear Lake

Good

Anglers reported fair to good fishing by boat at Bear Lake this week. One angler reported catching a nice-sized cutthroat trout by trolling, while another caught a large lake trout using the same method. (07-06-17)

Blacksmith Fork River

Good

Anglers have recently caught brown trout and cutthroat trout using worms, spinners and various fly patterns. (07-06-17)

Bountiful Lake

Fair

Fishing has been highly variable at some of the community ponds this week, with some anglers seeing success and others not having any luck. Try fishing early in the morning or late in the evening. (07-06-17)

Causey Reservoir

Fair

While we have not received any reports from anglers at Causey this week, the reservoir was recently stocked with over 30,000 tiger trout. (07-06-17)

East Canyon Reservoir & State Park

Good

One angler reported catching several wipers from shore. (07-06-17)

Echo Reservoir

Good

Anglers have recently caught large numbers of smallmouth bass in the reservoir. (07-06-17)

Farmington Pond

Fair

Fishing has been highly variable at some of the community ponds this week, with some anglers seeing success and others not having any luck. Try fishing early in the morning or late in the evening. (07-06-17)

Holmes Creek Reservoir

Fair

While we were not able to find any reporting anglers on Holmes this week, bass fishing has been fair to good in recent weeks. (07-06-17)

Hyrum Reservoir & State Park

Fair

The reservoir is full and the water temperature is approximately 70 degrees. For a greater chance of success, be sure to arrive early in the day or late in the evening. From shore, worms and PowerBait are a safe bet. Trolling is a tried-and-true way to catch fish at Hyrum by boat. (07-06-17)

Jensen Nature Park Pond

Fair

Fishing success has been variable, with some anglers catching fish and others having no luck. Many are at least getting bites. One angler reported catching a nice-sized catfish on rainbow PowerBait. (07-06-17)

Kaysville Ponds

Good

One angler reported pulling in a two-pound catfish using a hotdog. The bluegill were active this week as well, reportedly they were chasing after almost any kind of bait. If you are targeting these fun little fish, be sure to use a very small hook. (07-06-17)

Logan River

Good

Anglers have reported the river is not flowing as high or fast as it has been in recent weeks. Fishing for brown trout has recently been fair to good. Hundreds of rainbow trout were stocked in the river on June 30. (07-06-17)

Lost Creek Reservoir

Good

The water is clear and anglers are pulling in large numbers of smaller trout. Worms and corn-flavored PowerBait worked well from shore this week. One angler reported catching a decent-sized splake. (07-06-17)

Mantua Reservoir

Fair

Anglers have reported the reservoir has recently produced well for trout, bluegill, largemouth bass and perch. However, we did not receive any reports from anglers this week. (07-06-17)

Ogden River

Good

Fishing has recently been good for brown trout. (07-06-17)

Pineview Reservoir

Good

The tiger muskie bite is still on, and one angler reported catching a decent-sized one. Another group of anglers reported catching large numbers of crappie from the shore using a worm under a bobber. (07-06-17)

Rockport Reservoir

Good

According to reporting anglers, fishing at Rockport was fair to good. A couple groups of anglers caught some nice-sized rainbow trout. Another angler reported catching smallmouth bass. (07-06-17)

Uinta Mountains

Hot

This is a perfect time to go out and enjoy some magnificent mountain solitude. We have received many reports of anglers catching large numbers of fish in a wide variety of waters. Those hiking deep into the Uintas reported good fishing for arctic grayling, brook trout and tiger trout. Fishing was also good at Lily Lake, Whitney Reservoir and Beaver Lake. Stream levels are much lower than previous weeks, making it a great time to fish. The Bear River has lots of pocket water and is looking great for fly-fishing. Many other streams in the area have good conditions for angling, including Mill Creek, McKenzie Creek, East and West Blacks Fork and Smiths Fork. Many lakes in the Uintas were stocked with additional rainbow trout on July 3. (07-06-17)

Weber River

Good

Anglers reported good fishing for brown trout this week. Streamers, large nymphs, spinners and crankbaits have all been working well. (07-06-17)

Willard Bay Reservoir

Good

Anglers reported that the water temperature was around approximately 75 degrees as of July 5, and the water clarity was decent. One group of anglers reported catching several decent-sized catfish using a worm under a bobber. Another angler reported catching a four- or five-inch perch and missing several more near the north marina. The walleye bite was decent as well. Fishing was good for wipers near the south marina according to one group of anglers who caught almost a dozen between them. For wipers and walleye, anglers recommend trolling a jointed Rapala or a lipless crankbait between 2.5 and 3.5 mph. (07-06-17)
