Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report- June 13, 2017
In addition to the smallmouth bass feeding on the shiner minnows at dawn and dusk which I discussed last week, there are always smallmouth bass feeding on shiner minnows where the gravel bars taper off into the deep water out in the river. By wading down these gravel bars and fishing a Silver Outcast Streamer size 4 or a Murray's Heavy Shiner Streamer size 6 or a Murray's Dying Shiner Minnow size 6 out into the deep water and stripping it back toward the gravel bar, you can catch many large smallmouth bass. Downstream from access point #5 (Chapman's Landing) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River is fishing great at this time. Downstream from access point #11 (Seakford) on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is fishing great at this time.
