PERRIS — Bass fishing is getting fun again at Lake Perris far removed from a weeks-long run of hit-and-miss action with no discernible patterns to count on. A double-digit bucketmouth was boated by a lake regular, but details were slim by press time.

THE GOOD NEWS IS, this 10-2 bass was caught last week at Lake Perris. That bad news is, at press time, WON only had the following info: the angler’s name is Phil Thure, a lake regular from Riverside, and the big bass puked up a blackbird in his livewell. We’ll continue to dig and try to get more info on this fish in the next issue!

We do know the angler is Phil Thure of Riverside, he fishes Perris all the time, the bass went 10-2 and it puked up a blackbird in Phil’s livewell. Pretty cool so far.

Mentone angler Michael Craig is another Perris regular, and he has been getting into some…wait for it… decent days on the water that don’t involve a Senko or dropshot. Craig says the bite has been solid on topwater, Ikas and frogs in the brush. He scored a 5.5-pound largemouth on a classic Pop-R fished near the dam.
