Baseball playoffs, and great fishing, l love October.
Fishing has been downright good for the most part on the Truckee River. Cold nights, and mild days, and good flows. It really doesn’t get much better up here. The last 3 Octobers flows on the Truckee River have been very low. Not so much this year. Flows have dropped down to around 420 cfs today, but that’s still very good. I imagine they should bump up as all the lakes and reservoirs are full and they have to make room for winter rains and snows. Winter is about a month away in my neck of the woods.
So get on it. This will be a great October on the Truckee River. Both sides of the river have been fishing well. I’m very satisfied with how well the Nevada side has been fishing, and I’ve been guiding more and more down there again. The Nature Conservancy section of the Truckee River is fishing well again too. Since 2002, 25 million dollars have been spent revitalizing the Truckee River East of Reno.
I do have a few spots left for the Tight Line Clinic this Saturday the 7th. You will learn multiple tight line rigs and how to fish them. It’s a game changer.
