Recent cold weather and heavy snows have made the boat ramps a little treacherous. Warmer weather is on the way, so hopefully this will improve. Water flows are at 4,000 cfs and the water temperature is 41 degrees. The water clarity is good now. Brown trout are spawning and both nymph and streamer fishing is productive. Fish are eating sowbugs, scuds, Baetis nymph patterns, midge pupa, and aquatic worms. A light fly/dark fly combination (yes, a two-fly rig) works well for streamer fishing. There are STILL Baetis around in the early afternoon, especially on the cloudy days.
Still have some Baetis hatching in early afternoon.
